The article is available free on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.liebertpub.com\/cyber\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking<\/i><\/a>\u00a0website.<\/p>\n<p>In the article &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/online.liebertpub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1089\/cyber.2013.0305\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook Photo Activity Associated with Body Image Disturbance in Adolescent Girls<\/a>,&#8221; Evelyn Meier and James Gray, PhD, American University, Washington, DC, present the <strong>details of a study that identified an association between Facebook time spent on photo activity and poor body image among adolescent girls who internalize a thin ideal physique<\/strong>. The authors discuss the implications of these findings for eating disorder prevention programs and understanding the impact of social networking sites.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Given the connection between eating disorders and body image distortion and dissatisfaction, <strong>it is important to identify contributing factors in this particularly vulnerable group<\/strong>,&#8221; says Brenda K.
