Surprisingly, current paternal incarceration was positively associated with some indicators of relationship quality.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fact that <strong>current and recent paternal incarceration have countervailing consequences for relationship quality suggests that future research must continue to rigorously interrogate the timing of incarceration&#8217;s effects on family life<\/strong>,&#8221; wrote the authors of the\u00a0<i>Journal of Marriage and Family<\/i>\u00a0study, which included 3,433 men and women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the Wiley media release: A new study highlights the complicated spillover effects of incarceration on the quality of relationships.
